I have been thatching now for 19 years which is most of the time since leaving school and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

My father is a teacher, my mother is a nurse and my brother is a doctor so I can safely say that I have ploughed my own furrow!

I am an Approved Thatcher for Thatching Advisory Services and am a Member of the National Society of Master Thatchers. I have thatched in The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and all parts of the UK.

During that time I have worked as a thatcher on very large projects including big and small roofs. I have also thatched roofs which required removing existing tiles and advising on structural alterations also wattle and daub constructions, gazebos and bird houses!

I regularly work for the Capesthorne estate and have thatched for the National Trust. My work has also featured in the Cheshire Life magazine.

My present job (April 08), is a large house complete with an historic property in the grounds in the West Midlands. My input was required in the major alterations which included a completely altered roof.

My work is guaranteed and and the service which I offer is a personal one.

I have been privileged to work with some of the finest craftsmen in Holland and I am familiar with all thatching styles and ridge types. I have also worked with a Countryside Agency thatcher on a course of long straw thatching.

I can advise on fire precautions and treatments.

I am prepared to work on jobs in any part of the UK or indeed in Europe where I have spent a considerable time.

Most of my thatching work is now in the UK and I am based in Cheshire.
